PARIS
Hotel Les Dames du Panthéon
✤Top Pick✤
$ // 5th Arrondissement, Latin Quarter // 19 Place du Panthéon, 75005 // Show on Map
The Latin Quarter has consistently been our home away from home in Paris, and Les Dames du Panthéon saved our last vacation after a dreadful experience with an apartment stay. This hotel offers stylish interiors and personality in spades, celebrating strong, independent women (think singer Edith Piaf or writer Marguerite Duras) so they could emerge from the shadows of the adjacent monument notoriously focused on men (that would be the Panthéon). Read more about these inspiring women here.
$ // 3rd Arrondissement, The Marais// 90 Rue René Boulanger, 75010 // Show on Map
As seen in Vogue among a list of new design hotels in Paris. Hôtel Providence offers an ideal location for exploring the Marais. Given its proximity to one of our favorite restaurants, Vivant Cave, and the lovely Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
$$ // 6th Arrondissement, St. Germain // 13 Rue des Beaux Arts, 75006 // Show on Map
As seen in the New York Times 36 Hours Guide. With a Michelin-starred restaurant, underground pool, glittering design and incredible location, this is high on our list for our next trip to Paris. Part of the Small Luxury Hotel (SLH) and Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotel collections.
$$$ // 6th Arrondissement, St. Germain // 33 Rue Dauphine, 75006 // Show on Map
We were impressed with the service during a visit to the stylish and lively bar during our last excursion to Paris. The manager greeted us warmly and we made a mental note to book this spot on a future visit. A friend recently stayed at the Hotel D'Aubusson and enjoyed the centrality of the St. Germain location and its historic design.

ROME
$ // Quartiere Monti // Via Tor de'Conti 3/4 // Show on Map
While in Ancient Rome it was a slum, the Montri district became a haven for artists in the 1930s and today is a thriving neighborhood filled with cafes, boutiques and galleries. Once we read the glowing reviews of the Nerva in The Telegraph, and with its location a few minutes walk from hip weekend market Mercato Monti, we added it to our list.
$$ // Quartiere Monti // Via Urbana 6/7 - 00184 // Show on Map
Here at Compass & Key we truly love cycling, and complimentary bicycles at a hotel will win us over any day. This homey retreat has only 15 rooms but features accessibly-modern design, nestled in the bohemian neighborhood of Monti. Part of the Tablet collection of hotels.
Hotel Indigo-St. George
✤Top Pick✤
$$$ // Centro Histórico // Via Giulia, 62 - 00186 // Show on Map
This 5-star property was our home in Rome during a visit in November. While it was closed at the time, we enjoyed the views from the stunning rooftop terrace and cozy ambiance of the rooms. We were pleasantly surprised that what felt like a boutique hotel was part of IHG group, for those of us who love our rewards clubs.
J.K. Place Roma
✤Top Pick✤
$$$$ // Centro Histórico // Via Nazionale 200, 00186 // Show on Map
This hotel is a masterpiece of design, and one of the most elegant we have had the pleasure to rest our heads. This was well worth the splurge during our stay at the end of November. Make sure to enjoy a drink at the jewel-toned bar, with incredibly friendly service. Part of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotel collection.

SEVILLE
Hotel Alfonso XIII
✤Top Pick✤
$$$ // City Center // San Fernando 2, Seville // Show on Map
Seville's best-known luxury hotel is also in an enviable location in the heart of the city. Built to house visiting dignitaries for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition and restored in 2012, the hotel is a stunning example Mudéjar design with its fountain courtyard and colorful tiles. We loved dining in the sunny courtyard and enjoying a drink after a day of sightseeing in the gilded bar lined with mirrors. A Starwood Luxury Collection hotel.
Hotel Palacio Villapanés
✤Top Pick✤
$$ // Barrio Santa Cruz // Calle Santiago 31, Seville // Show on Map
It's easy to envision daily life in this 18th century mansion, transformed into a boutique luxury hotel. Located on the edge of Santa Cruz, you're still within walking distance of the city center but with a local neighborhood feel. We enjoyed our elegant room with its vaulted ceiling and modern amenities. A Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotel.
$ // Heliopolis // Calle Uruguay 8, Seville // Show on Map
Escape the busy city center to the quiet neighborhood of Heliopolis and this small yet modern boutique hotel. While it's located a outside the city center, the area is well serviced by the bike share system, Sevici, as well as public transport. Part of the Tablet collection of hotels.
