Two Official Languages
While most of the Maltese speak English, we always encourage travelers to know a few phrases in the local language. Air Malta has a handy list of Maltese phrases, including ‘bongu’ (good morning) and ‘grazzi ħafna’ (thank you). This is the sign for the Barrakka garden - ‘gnien’ is ‘garden’ in Maltese.
